Hope and Compassion

I attended the AMA Leadership Development Conference in Miami and heard Dr. Bodai speak about his efforts to promote the Breast Cancer Awareness Stamp.  On the way home, I purchased the stamps at the Airport Post Office.  The following week I received a call from my Physician telling me that my annual mammogram was suspicious and I proceeded to have a needle biopsy.  Well, the biopsy showed carcinoma in situ.  I had a lumpectomy on April 14, 2000 and am scheduled for additional surgery on May 2, 2000.  The point of my story is - I thought that buying the stamps I would help my friends, family, and cancer survivors.  But now, in a twist of fate it is also helping me.

Thanks to Dr. Bodai for his wonderful message of hope and compassion.
